Wolfies Grill: Outdoor Adventure

Wolfies Grill Indianapolis Indiana

When you walk into Wolfies Grill just seat yourself, or at least that’s what happened when I entered the eatery. Ha! It was a cool spot. The lighting was quite dark, that’s why my photos are so dark. Ugh! I apologize for that. Anyways, Wolfies has this hunter vibe going on. A stuffed raccoon, duck, moose, bear and other animals adorned the walls. I was like is that a bear’s head over there? The eatery is also a cabin, which seals embracing the outdoorsy feel for me. The food was just as interesting as the décor… and that my friend is a good thing.

Style Peek: Floral Party

Britt Hawaiian Floral Skinny fashion

My life feels like it’s on turbo mode right now. I’m transitioning into a new job, and other great things are happening that I will reveal later. It’s so exciting! Anyways, above is the outfit I wore to a going away party Saturday. My outfit goal was to wear clothes that were park friendly, yet stylish. I wasn’t trying to worry about getting my clothes dirty while enjoying myself. I was extremely comfortable too! I sported perfect attire for the party, as the floral print was quite festive.

Handel’s Ice Cream: Cake Batter

Handel's Ice Cream and Yogurt-cake batter

I got another mini review coming your way from Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt. Last time I reviewed the Cinnamon Roll Sundae, you can view that heavenly treat  here. This time I was curious about the cake batter ice cream. As a kid do you remember asking to lick the cake batter bowl after your mom mixes all the yummy ingredients? My siblings and I always tried to beat each other at calling the bowl first. Ha! I’d be licking that bowl until it was all gone. Just like I did with my cake batter ice cream.

AK’s Picks: Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2013

I had so much fun making this Mother’s Day Gift Guide for you all. Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and your mom deserves something special… as always, but May 12 is the day she’s in the spotlight. I don’t know about you, but I adore my mother. I want to bless her every chance I get. So this list was definitely inspired by my amazing mom. I love the fashion dish gloves and apron, perfect for the cooking mom. Or how about the paintbrush clock? It’s so crafty and unique, great for decoration. I for one think edible arrangements are a dream, and gifting them to mom is wonderful too. What are you waiting for? Peek at my list.

Champ’s Tasty Tuesday: Gracie’s Rollovers

Shih-tzu- puppy

This Tasty Tuesday I wanted to switch it up a bit. My adorable puppy, Champ, will be sharing his thoughts on some dog treats he received from Three Dogs Bakery.  It’s such a cute spot filled with dog treats including cookies, brownies and s’mores. I think I will get Champ’s birthday cake from there. Anyhow, I chose two Gracie’s Rollovers ($2.25), which are carobcoated cookies in peanut butter and chocolate flavor. I forgot that Champ is probably the only puppy that doesn’t go crazy for peanut butter. He wasn’t a huge fan of the treats… but, well I will let him tell you about it.

My Life: Nathan Gerard Fashion Show

Nathan Gerard Fashion Show-Indianapolis

Yesterday I participated in the Nathan Gerard Fashion Show at the Irving Theater. The theme of the show was, “What are the youth to do?” It was a blast! Nathan is extremely talented. His looks consisted of designs made from carpet, curtains, towels and even blankets. I mean he seriously makes a towel look sexy. Nathan has a passion for reinvention, the line aims to speak to our generation through an accelerated narrative and nostalgic idea of beauty. The mixture of patterns and textures is beyond amazing. I was able to capture photos during the eclectic fashion show. I love his work!!!

AK’s World Update: Makeover in the Works

Blog Peeks-AK's World

AK’s World is currently under reconstruction. My blog will have an entire new look, logo… everything. The website will be so different and I am super pumped. Yay! In preparation for this, and so many other changes in the works, I will be posting less frequently. I will still post every week, just not everyday. This will ensure quality posts as well. I would rather give you remarkable posts than half-effort posts because I don’t have enough time. I am excited about this new makeover, and hope you will continuously take a peek. Thanks so much for supporting me on this journey. Hugs!!!

Orange Leaf: Crafty Addition

Orange Leaf yogurt Indianapolis

I am such a fan of Orange Leaf. I think I should do a mini review of every flavor like I am for Handel’s Ice Cream and Yogurt every time I visit. But I don’t think I will unless a flavor really jumps out at me. The other day I visited and noticed something new… they have 3-way dividers to place in your cup now. So if you don’t want your flavors to mesh, like me sometimes, you don’t have to let them. Incredible! I may be late in this discovery, but my mind was blown. Ha! I tried cheesecake, snicker doodle, and oatmeal cookie. Yes I know, I was all about the sweet thug life that day.
